First of all, I want to say how exciting it is to see people visiting my website! I hope the traffic commences (or even increases)! Please feel free to comment on my blog, and definitely check out the other pages. I'm always updating things so keep an eye out.
I have a ton of projects lined up, both for the benefit of this webpage and my pool of compositions. One project is to make recordings of all the orchestral excepts I can, with myself playing them, for the sake of auditions, as well as to help any of my horn students who are working on excerpts and want to hear the excerpt played by itself with no orchestral accompaniment. This means that the excerpt has to be pretty perfect, which isn't very easy, of course. Another fun thing I want to do is use technology to my advantage and create recordings of myself playing multiple parts of an excerpt. It's just something fun I have planned. I also want to do the same thing with etude and duet books. That kind of stuff will really benefit my students, I know. One would think that that would cause copyright issues. The way I see it, I'm only recording myself and posting it for the aid of other, and for no financial gain whatsoever. I plan on crediting with book and publisher that I post, too. I'll keep doing it until a particular publisher or composer has a problem with it. Again, there is no financial gain on my part, just for study. Thus, everything should be fine. Now, composition projects. Ah yes, a composer always has a ton of music in his mind, as well as a lot of ideas for pieces to write. I do have a few of those, but what's been stirring in my a lot lately is arrangement ideas. One big project I have is to create a chorale book for horn quartet, which not only has chorales written by other composers, but also some original chorales written by me. I've already begun on this project. I also want to arrange a number of works for wind band, which I'll tell you more about upon completion.
