Whidbey Island Brass Camp
The Whidbey Island Brass Camp was created by Sean Brown in the summer of 2017. Mr. Brown serves as the primary organizer and director. The camp is a week-long summer day camp for middle & high school brass players, aged 12 to 18 who have been in band or taken private lessons for at least 1 year. It is located on beautiful Whidbey Island in the town of Oak Harbor, held at Oak Harbor Lutheran Church. It provides an affordable and local option for students living on Whidbey Island, but is open for students coming from all over the Northwest.
There are a vast number of playing opportunities and activities that students will experience when attending the Whidbey Island Brass Camp. Students will have an opportunity to play in several different ensembles, including a small group of 3-5 musicians, a medium- |
sized group of people close to their age and ability, and all together as one mass brass ensemble. On the final days of the camp, the students will perform the music they've rehearsed during the week for their friends and families. In addition to playing in ensembles, students will be involved in many other activities, such as:
