I was present at the event as a vendor, and I had a booth (right next to Lowell Shaw's) selling all of my chamber works, both original and arranged, in their complete published form. I thank all of you who are currently visiting this webpage, and invite you to explore. I haven't been writing much lately, but that will soon change.
So yeah, last weekend was great, but good to get out of the way for what's coming up this weekend: The Seattle Symphony 2nd Horn Auditions. I'm in the running to play in the preliminary round on Saturday. I have a lot of work to do to get myself ready, both physically and mentally. As you could expect from an audition of this caliber, the excerpts are tough. I'm managing well, but I have yet to have them at the level they should be. Because realistically, they have to be as close to perfect as possible. There will be other players there who are capable of doing that, so I have to be at the level. Otherwise, I'm screwed.
So that's what I'm doing all week...pray for me. Literally. With me going up against 100+ other players (most of which are single and can practice 7 hours a day), a miracle will be needed.
All I'm trying to do is to make a good impression, despite the results.
Take care and value music.
