The thing I want to stress is that the music itself is really quite amazing, and is well worth the listen. I'm very much enjoying playing and listening to this piece. It's unfortunate in that there isn't a CD of it anywhere, but you can find a recording of it on Youtube played by the Detroit Symphony.
So, that's what is happening for me this week. We perform this piece tomorrow and again on Saturday. In addition on this concert, we play Wagner's "Siegfried Idyll", Prelude to "Die Meistersinger", and Prelude to Act 3 of "Lohengrin". It's to celebrate Wagner's 200th Birthday. Should be a fun weekend!
