And they're fun duets! I've played them with my wife and my mom, as well as several of my students. I hope to record some of them with my students and family to share online with everyone.
This is going to be a great December. Maybe it's just because last December was just so horrible...nothing happened then. But now, I've got my brass ensembles playing an amazing Winter Concert in a week, and we're going to play Christmas Carols in front of the Oak Harbor Safeway again this year, and my kids have their piano recital tonight (at which I'm going to play a couple Christmas carols on my horn with their piano teacher to elongate the short recital). And my wife and two older boys and I are going to see the Nutcracker at the Pacific Northwest Ballet on Dec. 23. And at home I've been recording my Christmas quartets, which have been a lot of fun, and I look forward to sharing with you soon. So yes, after having a very thankful mindset of what I have during the Thanksgiving holiday, I continue to be thankful for what I have as a musician and a family man.
Take care and value music.
