I've finished the editing of my Concerto for Horn & Orchestra No. 1, and it is now available on my "Store" page. I've also created a piano reduction that you can purchase! I'm really hoping that folks like this concerto and want to play it! I know I'm looking forward to playing it because it's really fun and very challenging. There's some great technical challenges in this piece. The toughest part for me is making all of the high notes consistent. Those who know me know that my achilles heel is high notes, that it's my weakest attribute as a player. I wrote many high notes in these piece to really prove something to myself, mainly that I can play high consistently with the right amount of hard work and dedication. That's the bar I'm setting for myself to get to the next level of player, to conquer my biggest issue.
I don't have a real recording of this yet, of course. But, when I start rehearsing this with the Saratoga Orchestra in October, I'm going to record every minute of rehearsal and both concerts. So I'll be sure to have something good. In the meantime, I've put on here the MIDI recording, which you can listen to by clicking here. All of the 3 movements are sort of just gelled into one in this recording, but you hopefully you can distinguish them (The 2nd movement start at around 6 minutes).
Have a look and a listen! I look forward to making a real recording of this!
Take care and value music.
