But the big thing I need to remember when getting these excerpts recorded is that they have to be technically perfect. Professional orchestra auditions have to be perfect, not to mention a recording made for them. There can't be a single chipped note, rhythmic error, or tempo fluctuation (unless it's marked). These excerpts provide a wide range of variety, covering the beginning, middle and end of the Romantic era, so each of them have a different playing style. The perfection of all my notes and the intuitive musicality will make me a better candidate for this.
I keep thinking about how miraculous it would be if I won this chair, as well as how impossible it will be.
I'm just doing this to make myself get better at this darn horn...
